At SUGI BEE GARDEN, we cultivate a kumquat called "Hōgyoku" that utilizes bee pollination.
Starting around July, the kumquats began to bear fruit little by little, and they have now grown to about the size of a plum.
The kumquats are growing well, but this year there is one concern.
That is the "sunburn of the fruit" due to strong sunlight.
Sun-tanned kumquat fruit.
Even after mid-September, the intensity of the sunlight has not weakened, and extremely hot days continue, creating a situation that can truly be described as abnormal weather.
Once a fruit gets sunburned, it cannot return to its original state and will eventually fall off.
It is very sad that the kumquat fruits I have carefully nurtured have fallen.
I will continue to nurture the plant carefully while taking thorough sunburn prevention measures to ensure that the fruit does not fall off as much as possible!
