The insect transfer work was carried out

Today we carried out the "insect transfer" that I introduced previously.

[Previous blog]

First, the larvae are removed from the nest using a special syringe.

The larvae are very tiny, so it takes some skill.

After transferring the larvae, place the queen cells in the hive.

The worker bees then add royal jelly to the container.

It is recommended to continue feeding the larvae royal jelly.

This is the condition for becoming a queen bee, and it distinguishes her from a worker bee.

After about 10 days, remove them from the hive before the larvae emerge.

We will move each bee one by one to a hive that does not have a queen bee.

Thus a new queen bee is born in the new hive.
