Visit to Hungary, the home of acacia honey and a pioneer in beekeeping

In early May, President Yoneda and the heads of each department flew out from the company's headquarters in Kumamoto Prefecture to Hungary.

The purpose of this visit is to inspect the actual site where the Hungarian acacia honey that we handle is harvested.President Yoneda shakes hands firmly with the local representative. While deepening their relationship with the local representatives, they exchanged opinions about "Hungarian comb honey", which is a popular product on sale at our company. There was also a moment when the topic of our social media accounts, which are updated daily, came up. Our "Comb Honey Soft Serve Ice Cream", which is often featured on social media and on TV, uses Hungarian comb honey.SUGI BEE GARDEN 's acacia honey farm is located about a two-hour drive from the capital Budapest. In order to efficiently harvest honey from such a vast area of land, the hives are set up in a row and the honey is harvested in order by truck. This is a sight that is rarely seen in Japan.

The frames used locally are about twice the length of the ones we use at our company.

President Yoneda scoops up the honey with his finger and tastes it. The fresh taste at this moment is an irreplaceable feeling.

Hungarian acacia honey is characterized by its clear color and clean, refreshing taste. The pure acacia honey harvested from the vast acacia forests has a pale, beautiful color from the honeycomb itself.

The entire apiary is covered with a field of blooming acacia flowers. Their sweet scent wafts from the moment you step out of your car. The refreshing, mild scent is also associated with the ease of eating acacia nectar. The bees were already in the milky white flowers, enjoying the sweet scent and nectar.

The distance from Japan to Hungary is approximately 14,414km. The time difference is about 7 hours. It was very inspiring to interact with people who are running beekeeping businesses in a faraway land with the same passion and conviction as us.

SUGI BEE GARDEN is proud of its Hungarian acacia honey. This crystal clear honey is a gift from the great nature of Hungary, a beekeeping powerhouse.
