This year, we again conducted tree planting activities in Hamanaka Town, Akkeshi District, Hokkaido, with which we signed the Basic Agreement for Creating Honeybee Forests in 2023.
Hama-naka Town is the base of mobile beekeeping for SUGI BEE GARDEN, where honey is harvested every year. This year, in late June, a total of 300 honey source trees were planted in Hama-naka Town, including 200 linden trees and 100 Chinese pagoda trees.

The temperature on the day was 25°C, and despite sweating under the strong sunlight, about 30 staff members planted trees, including President Cedar.

We carefully attach nets to each of the planted seedlings.

Why am I doing this kind of work?
Apparently, the saplings are actually planted to prevent Hokkaido deer from coming and eating them!

Installing deer-proof netting around all 300 seedlings was an arduous task, but all the staff worked together to create a forest for the future.

We will continue to plant trees diligently, and protect the friendly nature where children and bees can spend their days with smiles on their faces!
