For the bees that will soon return from Hokkaido,
We are renovating an apiary in Kumamoto that was left vacant over the summer.
The main task involves cutting grass in overgrown apiaries.
The larger areas are mowed by riding mower, while the slopes and narrow areas are mowed with a handheld mower.
Handheld lawnmowers are very heavy and can be very tiring to use in hot weather.
For plants that are easily caught, such as vines, manual work is essential.
A rake is also useful for collecting grass clippings.
We also make fine adjustments with scissors so that it does not get in the way when the truck enters.
It's completely clean now.
Now we can place the hives that will be coming back from Hokkaido.
In the apiary where the grass has been cut,
Sow seeds of plants that provide nectar.
This time I planted "Hairy Vetch".
Wishing you lots of flowers blooming in the spring!
