The Republic of Vanuatu is located approximately 1,800 km east of Australia.
The land area is roughly the same size as Niigata Prefecture and is dotted with around 80 islands.
There are many tourists from Australia and the tourism industry is thriving.
So what is the relationship between Vanuatu and SUGI BEE GARDEN?
Currently, more and more people in Vanuatu are taking up beekeeping.
The tropical climate means that a variety of flowers bloom all year round, providing an abundant source of nectar.
In response to this, Vanuatu and SUGI BEE GARDEN teamed up to launch a project to further promote beekeeping activities in the area.
We conduct regular surveys and beekeeping training in Vanuatu together with beekeepers from SUGI BEE GARDEN and other New Zealand beekeepers.
We will be uploading photos of Vanuatu's scenery, which you don't normally get to see, as well as local beekeeping activities, so stay tuned!
