Inspection of rented hives

This is the time of year when strawberries are at their peak in Kumamoto.
I spend my days inspecting the hives that we lend out to local farmers for pollination purposes.

On this day, we visited strawberry farms in Minamiaso.

Are the numbers and condition of the bees OK? Is there enough nectar for them to feed on?
During this cold winter season, normal bees spend their time warming each other in the hive,
Because pollination bees work tirelessly,
As a result, beekeeping club members have many things to be concerned about.

While asking farmers about the usual behavior of their bees,
I also give advice.

Winters in Minamiaso are harsh, so to prevent the bees in the hives from becoming weak from the cold,
Please cover the hive with a blanket or straw.

The strawberries have grown thanks to pollination by the bees at SUGI BEE GARDEN.
"If we ask Mr. Sugi's bees, they will produce strawberries that are well shaped and delicious, so that's a big help."
I am proud to hear farmers say this.
We will create an environment where bees can live comfortably.

The strawberry season is still on.
We will continue to visit farmers regularly and keep an eye on the bees.
